Princess Room

My favourite guest room, with it’s French Blue antique wallpaper, boasting little cherubs and scrolly patterns  (thankfully in good condition) A beautiful white marble fireplace, painted ceiling and double balcony. I didn't have to do much to get this bedroom looking beautiful. The floor had several beams missing which Nic has temporarily boarded up and put a rug over them until we can find some beautiful Oak boards. My job was to take all the grime off the walls and floors. I left the original paintwork around the skirting and doors but will paint the outside next year where the paint has flaked off.

We found a gorgeous Italian Wardrobe at a local Brocante, and  an old birdcage on top filled with candles lends a romantic flavour. The bed is new and comfortable with an antique surround which I painted in soft blues and golds. Every year the room changes and another layer of Brocante finds is added.

Another big paint job to the furniture, using milk paints and a gold wash to show off the antique carving. I found the Italian Armoire in a junk shop and is one of my most favourite pieces. The birdcage was found at an early morning flea market. I bought the beautiful lace curtains at a local homeware shop which really brings the room together. When the Balcony doors are open they look so beautiful billowing in the breeze.

Are you able to get me some curtains that you have in the Princess room thanks.

    Karen
I bought my Exterior French doors from you a number of years ago, saw them in a magazine, not sure which one it was now but was advertising bed linen. I had them sent down to North Canterbury.
